“I think it’s important you know that I have no intention of leaving who I am at the door with this podcast. Anyone who knows me knows I cannot tell a personal story that doesn’t have some social justice connection at its core. I have my convictions, and issues that draw on my empathy and compassion. Frankly, it is what drives and informs my conscience and makes me who I am. How could I bring any less to this endeavor?”

A Brief Bio of My Father, Martin Sheen
My father’s journey began long before I was in the picture. I grew up across the dining room table hearing stories of the turbulent 60’s and of his adventures at the age of only 23 starring on Broadway in the Pulitzer Prize winning play “The Subject was Roses” as well as his introduction to Shakespeare by Joe Papp of The Public Theater.
The stories would take on greater meaning and become my own as I traveled the world with my father when he starred in some of the most iconic American cinema of all time, in particular “Apocalypse Now” and the film that changed the landscape of it all “Badlands.”
Never one to sit still for long, he continued to explore the boundaries of his talent proving there were no boundaries when he starred in the groundbreaking TV series “The West Wing.” To this day his role as President Bartlet still garners admirers and inspires new generations to see a world in which they can affect change.
Knowing his nature for taking risks when it came to exploring his abilities as an artist I asked him to try something new and he agreed. So we set out to make a podcast, both of us having a vague idea of what we each wanted, neither of us realizing we were about to go on a journey together like nothing we had ever experienced before. And, along the way, we fought and cried and laughed and said “I’m sorry” more times than either can remember and said “I love you” with greater sincerity than we had ever known for each other too.
This new venture is the culmination of my father’s lifetime of adventures as he brings his unique talent as an actor and a writer to the mic. And I’m so grateful he has put his trust in me to help make it a reality.
For far too long I’ve had this to myself. Now I’m proud to share him and all his fabulous storytelling with the world.
